Why should I use a REALTOR®?

A REALTOR® can provide extensive exposure to the maximum number of buyers.

A REALTOR® will show your home only to prospects who can afford to buy it. Your home will be shown only to serious, qualified buyers.

A REALTOR® can offer information on current real estate values and can help you set a realistic, competitive price.

A REALTOR® will act as your representative in showing your home, taking over the responsibilities associated with arranging appointments and negotiating the contract.

A REALTOR® will maintain objectivity in presenting offers and counter offers.

A REALTOR® can help you calculate the net proceeds from your sale, and can familiarize you with the closing procedures by explaining them in advance.

How do I choose a REALTOR®?

Look for an agent who:

  • Is a member of the local board or association of REALTORS®.
Bob is a member of the Temple-Belton Board of REALTORS®.
  • Advises you on how to prepare your home for the market.
Bob has information and tips on staging your home as well as a wide network of service providers that can help you make improvements that will get you the most for your home.
  • Shows some enthusiasm for your property, listens attentively, instills confidence, operates in a professional manner, and has a complementary personality style to yours.
Bob is committed to selling your home, no matter the size or price.
  • Has researched your property in the public records and the MLS.
Bob has access to multiple sources of information that will be valuable in the course of selling your home.

The following are important questions to ask a potential agent:

  • Are you a REALTOR®?
Bob is a licensed real estate agent and a REALTOR®.
  • Do you have an active real estate license in good standing? To find this information, you can check with your state’s governing agency.
  • Do you belong to the Multiple Listing Service (MLS)?
Bob will list your home in the MLS where it will be searchable through dozens of local websites and available to all local agents to widen your potential buyer pool.
  • What have you listed or sold in this neighborhood lately?
  • Do you cooperate with buyers' brokers?
Bob is proud to work with area real estate professionals in an ethical manner, while helping you get the most for your home.
  • What share of the commission will you offer a cooperating broker who finds the buyer?
  • Is real estate your full-time career?
Bob is a full-time REALTOR® and spends time both in his office coordinating sales, marketing and working with buyers as well as in the field, showing homes and meeting with clients.
